Recieved a call that they're from DTE (local power company) and we are scheduled for shut off @ 12:30 today. Knew it was a scam- horrible English and the power company doesn't call from this number- found it hilarious. They're asking for $1400. Hopefully no one else falls for it.
SCAM!!!!!! Said he was calling from NV Energy and that our power was scheduled for disconnect at 1pm today. I found it laughable when he didn't know the name of our business or the amount that was JUST auto drafted from our bank account.
Got a call saying they're from LADWP (Los Angeles Department of Water and Power) and the power is about to be shut off.
I knew he was lying since he gave me an address I don't have an DWP account with. Told him to go lie to someone else.
They just called from this number and did get hostile when pressing them for ID info. He goes by the name David Green, but doesn't sound like one. They will say that they will disconnect your power within the hour because of a glitch in their system, and your payment didn't go through. They will supposedly get a call from their "disconnection" team that are apparently already at your business ready to disconnect unless you give them the money that you owe. Such [***]. They claimed they were from the Burbank Dept Water and Power, but the Burbank DWP and Burbank PD are aware of their antics.
