They have called me several times trying to push some kind of home security system on me. Every time they call I tell them to take my number off the list, yet they keep calling back.
Got a call from this number today. I did not answer. I called back using my work land. It was answered by an automated message says it's "America Insurance Agency". Solicitor I'm assuming because I do not have any type of insurance with these people.
Don't worry. These are just scammers that are calling numbers randomly. Just block the number on your phone if you can. And tell your parents, so that they can put your phone number on the "do not call list", if they haven't already. Sometimes, obviously, that doesn't help....these horrible people call anyway, because they are obviously not in this country and not operating legitimately, so they don't care. But my suggestion is that you don't answer your phone if you don't know who it is. If it's important they will leave a message. I always tell my friends, if you are calling me from an unknown cel, just text me, because chances are I won't answer; and if you are calling from a landline I don't know, same thing...so leave a message and I will call you right back. But don't freak out....just don't fall for anything they tell you. Don't give any personal info; not even if they tell you they are the cops and not even if they tell you, say....you owe money and will be arrested (yes, I've heard of that happening)-cuz for one thing, you can't be arrested if you past due on loans, etc. And if you're 13, I seriously doubt that is the case, but they will keep insisting, so if that happens just hang up. If someone says they are suing you, tell them, that's fine, I will respond to you when you send all the info in writing in the mail-but don't give them your address....refer to above. ;)
I would have to summarize as follows;
Supposably, you may have chosen the wrong word by using "supposably'. The correct word for this context, supposedly, would be supposedly; or so they say. :0P
My husband and I both got calls from this number today. I didn't answer but he did. Hey told us we were selected to have a free security system installed in our home. He told them we weren't home owners and they hung up on him. It is obviously a scam! My advice is to NEVER call back a number you don't know. Especially if there was no message left. I saw something on the news about a scam where you call numbers you don't know back and a charge shows up on your phone bill for a ridiculous amount in long distance or something. Does anyone know if there is somewhere to report numbers like this?
