It was very odd. The lady called, was asking me for personal information before she could tell me what the call was regarding. She said she was contacting on behalf of health insurance company. This is not how my health insurance company contacts me. My insurance is paid far in advance. Seems like a scam to me. So many fraudsters, but I never give out personal info to someone that calls me. That is not how big companies do things.
I believe that you are receiving collections calls from a company contracted by InterMountain Healthcare. They are asking for the personal information to confirm your identity as the call could contain PHI (Protected Health Information) e.g you owe $300 for your colonoscopy or you owe $500 for psychiatric treatment.
