Our family's cell phones were receiving texts from this phone number on 3/16/2017. This calling number is a mobile number for the Boerne, Texas area. It has the same 431 prefix as our family's cell numbers in Boerne, Tx. The text message says :
" RE: Security Service FCU. Please contact us 24/7 at 830-431-4876 "
If you call the number back, after pressing *67 (for privacy), the call won't go thru, as it says they are not accepting calls at this time. So, that means they don't take calls from numbers that have been blocked.
Security Service FCU (Federal Credit Union) is a bank in our area. We are NOT customers of that bank/credit union. But, when we called the SSFCU directly at their phone number listed online, they informed us that the text message sent to us was a SCAM, and that they did NOT send it. They are getting other callers inquiring about the same type texts. My husband and I got the texts on each of our cell phones....and our son got a phone call. He said it was an Indian sounding guy and the guy must have wanted some number from our son, so he gave him some fake number. Scammers............ so watch out!!!!! I'm blocking the number, so that it won't text/call me again.

Also, on the next day a similar number 830-431-4180 called my son's cell phone and was requesting his credit card info. The foreign sounding guy hung up on my son when my son started giving him a fake card number. So, my son called the number shown on caller ID back, only to find out that the REAL person at that listed number knew nothing about it and said many people were calling his cell number reporting getting calls from him. Somehow, scammers were using his number to try to get credit card numbers from people. Scammers!!! Be very careful.
