robocall on my phone from 845-239-7647 caller ID said "Cell Phone NY" on Monday 01-30-17 at 454 PM.
recording came on AND if you have the stomach to wait and listen to this SCAM message it will repeat 4 more times with long pause in between each of the messages. The message finally disconnects after 5 messages and 6 minutes 7 seconds.
"Hi this is the alert system with the visa and master card services with important changes to your account before the next billing cycle.
If you receive rates by mail and do not want to be contacted press 3. Congratulations your excellent payment history...................
.. This is a limited time offer and you must respond immediately. Press 1 now to speak to our qualifications dept and complete the process."
same message as above called earlier and also repeated the message 5 times
got a robocall on my phone from 502-327-6041 caller ID said "UNKNOWN NAME" on Monday 01-30-17 at 113 PM
Just got a new number last week and have not given it to anyone yet. So any calls are robo scammers and I do not answer!
I am sick and tired of the phone companies not doing something about robo calls since they have the technology for everything else. I even switched companies from ATT to Verizon in hopes that would help BUT NO LUCK!! I am getting ready to get rid of cell phones until they solve the problem. There has to be a way to pressure the phone companies because DO NOT CALL is worthless and more laws won't work. SICK OF SCUM BAG SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!
Understand your frustration -- However these days a spam caller can mask the number they are calling from completely. We cannot do anything about it other than block those individual numbers when you find they are spammers. These days every cell phone has the capability to block calls. It's not worth going to your carrier -- they wont/cant do much. Also, don't every answer it. Let someone else do that and report who called. Then you can Google that number. If it shows to be spam, then block it. If you answer it, for all you know that may indicate to the spammer/spam-bot that you are a real person. Better to leave them thinking your number goes nowhere.
