I was very hesitant but thought something may have been wrong because my computer slowed down?
I got scammed! I asked so many questions too, something told me not to do it but when I called the number they said Mac support. The problem now is I think they still have access to my computer, I can't change my computer password. When I do it's like their laughing at me. The message say what append? Not spelled right instead of what happened. I'm afraid to sign into my bank and pay bills, I already had to change my cc. How do I get rid of them. Their number is 845-241-1234 I even told them I was disabled. They would steal from anyone, I'm disgusted. And now I have to find money to pay some computer person to work on my computer. Why isn't anyone doing something about this?
Received a call from "Charlie" who said he is with Windows Support and that I have a hackers in my computer. Told him I need to verify with Windows and to give me the number which is the number above. Needless to Microsoft Windows Support has a different number according to Google.
Do not accept ANY calls from this number it is a scam and they claim they are from Windows to say your computer has potential dangerous viruses, they try to get remote access to your computer....
Got a call from a David that said he was from Microsoft and that I had a virus in my computer. In the first place, I can't see Microsoft calling me just because I have a virus. He was wanting me to open Explorer and go to Google. I told him that we had a bad connection on the phone line. He was very persistent in calling me back. It didn't feel right.
I received a call from 845-241-1234, which flashed 'U.S. Government' on our phone screen. The man on the line has a very heavy South Asian accent. He claimed representing Windows, and that our computer system had been hacked. I asked him why 'U.S. Government' appeared on my phone if he was working for Windows. He said that the U.S. government authorized Windows to get through my system to locate these hackers. He was very persistent, but doubted his narrative altogether. I asked for his number and promised to call him back. I web searched the phone number, and read similar stories.
