Same as above. I googled it, and found that it belonged to a real live person. I'm thinking, though, it's been spoofed, and that the person had nothing to do with it.
I've been getting calls from this number around 1pm every day for the last 2 weeks. I finally picked up.
It's Habitat for Humanity begging for money. I was instantly greeted by the guy on the other line when I picked up the phone. He thanked me for being a donor and then started this 5-minute long winded explanation of a new promotion they are doing where some random company will match donations. Didn't even give me a chance to interrupt him...he just talked over me.
I told him that I cannot answer cell phone calls at my job (I work in an office and make calls all day) and that they need to stop calling me...I donate when I can and the constant calls are almost harassment. He "said" he was going to put me on their do not call list...let's see how that goes.
Caller ID displayed Callicoon, NY. Since Callicoon has a population of 167 (2010 census) it seems strange that anyone would be calling from there. As is the practice here, unrecognized numbers are not answered. No message left.
On another note for those who never heard of Callicoon, it is located in some beautiful country along the Delaware River North of Port Jervis, NY, in Sullivan County along the ex-Erie RR Southern Tier tracks.
