Telemarketing firm calling on behalf of Allstate - after I had received an on-line quote for auto insurance. Heavily accented person (barely understandable) from India (?) said they had an Allstate agent standing by (apparently on phone or on-line) because the on-line quote might not have given me all the discounts available. They started asking me the very same questions I had already answered on the quote web page so I told them I wasn't interested in answering them again because I could call an Allstate agent myself if I wanted the insurance. BTW - Allstate wasn't even in the running after checking several other companies who were cheaper which is probably why they call everyone. An agent calling wouldn't be so bad but a third party telemarketer is not acceptable practice especially when they request personal information!
I am so sick of this # calling me, they call 3 plus times a day. I never answer. what happened to the so called
" DO NOT CALL LIST" from our so called government? ya'll better get your [***] together and stop this [***].
I NEVER answer an unknown or unrecognized number, however, my husband does. This one belongs to State Farm. I had him ask them not to call again since I found out what I wanted to know. If you've gotten a quote online, they will continue to bother you until you ask them to stop. They removed us immediately and we never received another call from them. To my knowledge, they don't purchase their phone numbers; they only get them from those of us that request a quote online. They will, unfortunately, continue to call until asked to stop. That was my mistake and why my DH finally answered the call. He was, "tired of them calling, whoever they were!" Since those of us that request a quote are considered by the DNC to have established a relationship by virtue of that same quote request, making complaints do no good. I've made numerous DNC complaints and rarely receive calls from the numbers I complain about after about six months--except these folks. Considering how many people make complaints and the unfortunate size of that particular office, I'm surprised it doesn't take longer. Luck!
Clearly a telemarketing firm. Mine was from Allstate - others here say State Farm. im sure the insurance companies hire these guys. They call incessantly and when asked to take off the list - they hang up. Pure [***] and harassment
