Mrs. Powell called. Wanted to talk about the electricity supply charges on my ComEd bill. In Illinois the consumer can choose the electricity supplier. This obviously is an attempt to make you think it's ComEd when in reality it's another supplier fishing for your business.
This call borders on being a bait and switch type of call.
Recv'd call from Mrs. Powell, too. What are the odds!! Oddly, not a robo call, but probably still as persistent. "We've been trying to reach you [But she doesn't say who 'we' is!!] regarding an important matter about the supply charges on your ComEd account. Call back at 847/250-0522 and have a copy of your electric statement handy to review this matter", and she gives a reference #. Yeah, I'm going to call you and give you my ComEd account #. Scumbag! (Can you tell how much I love these calls? I agree, too: Trying to act as if they're ComEd just to get you to call.)
