got a call on a land line (we're an anachronist lot) - no one responded when I answered, so I hung up

I'll assume it would have been a recording of some sort.   Ignore it.

didn't answer , and they left no message on the machine.
a similar number called previously and was a high pressure telemarketer wanting a donation, where 15% goes to the charity and 85 % goes in their pockets
,also received 2 unknown out of area calls in the last couple of days.

I was expecting a call from this area code so I answered.  I heard typical telemarketing sounds in the background, then a loud squeal came on the line and I hung up.

Caller ID says:  V12615130100016 as the company name.

Same experience as Gompers. Telemarketer, Scammer or Criminal. No caller id provided by caller, just a bunch of jibberish numbers= V12615130100016.

Blocked caller number.

Same as above comments , wanted  money Claims won a large prize and needed to reply right away. Spoke broken english oe some type of english. Told to speak good english he hung up.
