"Gold Standard Roofing" wanted to inspect my roof.

Fraudulent roofing contractors will go around and file false insurance claims so that people get a free or cheap roof.  They will claim storm damage when there is none. This forces up the cost of homeowners insurance for everyone.  Furthermore, if they are scamming like that, think of how they are going to scam the homeowner on the quality of the roof.

One of my neighbors fell for this scam.   The roofer got my neighbor to provide an advance on the insurance deductible "so they could buy the materials" - and then disappeared.  The homeowner was out the deposit and they can't find the roofer.
