Called once didn't answer called back within a minute, answered asked if one of us was hard of hearing, told him no and he hung up.

The caller told me I just filed a claim for social security disability and wanted mt SS number to confirm.  Total SCAM

I received call from this #.  I didn't recognize #/didn't answer.  No message was left.

Every phone call that comes in, I look it up.  Half the time, caller's info is not available; other times, people have complained about the continuous calls.  In any and most cases, I do NOT answer the phone if I do not know the number.  i have also noticed lately that people call and present themselves to make it look like they are calling from your area code so that you are inclined to pick up.  WRONG  Do not answer if you do not know the caller.  If they are sincere, they will leave a message.  If they are a scam like the 929-442-2020 number we just received, they did leave a message, albeit a complete scam for sure; however, there are many vultures out there who are skimming the news looking for deaths in families and things in order to play on the emotions of those left behind.  Complete scum and a royal nuisance!!!!  This needs to be stopped somehow, without signing over our rights to freedom of speech.
