I had a fraudulent charge on my company credit card after making a purchase at a Walgreens. I believe that someone at the store stole my credit card number. The card was cancelled and about a month later I had a fraudulent charge on my personal card after making a purchase at Walgreens. This time a $50.50 charge appeared in another state at the same time I used my card to pay for lunch in my home state. Again the bank contacted me about suspicious activity on my card and the card has been cancelled. I believe that a Walgreen employee is stealing numbers and selling them either through a branch store or the processing center. I'm done with Walgreens.
This number was provided to me by my bank when I got an authorization fee on my account from Walgreens knowing full well I hadn't made any purchase there recently. When I call it, there is just silence, no ring and no dial tone.
This number appeared on my credit card statement as a pending charge. The charge listed Walgreens as the merchant. I called Walgreens and they said that they do not store credit card information, so they suspected that I got phished somehow. I called my Bank and closed my debit card. The charge was made at around 11 AM today. I am in Texas, but the charge was in IL.
Interestingly, when I called the number 847-506-4016, they answered, but I got silence. No ring or dial tone.
Our company card also got a fraud alert. There were several charges which thank god did not go through for $1 from Wallgreens with this number listed. When I call I get dead air.
Yeah, same thing here. $1 charge from Illinois, called my bank and they gave the same phone # listed here, called and got dead air, it never even rang. Had to close card and not sure how they got my card#. I don't live in Illinois, either, actually several states away! My charge was pending as well, and bank said they can't file fraud claim until a charge actually goes through, but they did tell me that it happened just after midnight last night, about 16 seconds after midnight was when the "authorization" on my card showed up. Wonder what all we have in common or where they got our info? I haven't actually received a call from them that I am aware of, just noticed this on my online banking and that was how I found out.
