Collection agent impersonators that persistently call harassingly multiple times a day from multiple different numbers. A voicemail may be left that attempts to scare the victim into calling back to pay a bogus debt. If you speak to an actual person they may impersonate an attorney or collection agency. You will be threatened with legal action and/or jail time if you do not pay the fabricated debt they'll claim you owe.
Here a transcript of a typical voicemail from these con-artists...
"We are attempting to reach you in regards to a case in our office that is attached to your name and social security number. Your case is set to be closed and forwarded. Please context this office immediately."
Suspected to be associated with (872) 221-6005 and the extortion group identifying themselves as "Smith & Associates"
