Recieved spam text to my Blackberry as follows: "Watch 4000 satellite channels on the internet For FREE! Go to nettv5.com". Of course if you visit the site you learn it's in fact not free. $19.99. And I suspect you get a virus if you download anything.
AT&T customers can easily report this as spam by forwarding the message to short code 7726. AT&T operator tells me that they report it to the FCC for you. Do it. And someone with a law license; please sue these [***] for spam and fruadulent advertising!!
Received exact same spam text message from 1-850-228-3293 on July 21 @ 9:35 am:
"Watch 4000 Satellite Channels On The Internet For FREE!
Go To: www.nettv5.com"
I am an AT&T customer; I'm following their directions (found at http://www.wireless.att.com/support_static_fi ... %20Consumer.pdf) to text the actual spam message to short code 7726 (SPAM) to start an investigation.
I forwarded the spam text. They replied with:
"ATT FREE MSG: Thanks for providing us with the content of an unwanted message. Now, reply with the sender's phone number so we know who sent you this message."
I replied with: "1-850-228-3293"
ATT replied with:
"AT&T Free Message: Thank you, we appreciate your assistance."
