I have received calls from this number on 9/6/16 @ 1:31pm, 9/9/16 @ 1:01pm and 9/12/16 @ 11:34am. I did not recognize the number so I did not answer the phone nor have I placed a return call to the number. My position regarding unknown numbers is that if the call was of any importance the caller would leave a message. All calls have appeared on my phone as a "missed call" from Tallahassee.
Scammer has been calling for months and he says he is with the Florida association of something or other, like Highway Patrol fundraising or something like that. It is funny when I dialed the number back and blocked my number he picks up the phone and says hello. Heck of a way to pick up a call. I called back a week or so later blocking my number and I told him I wanted to check him out and said I would call a friend of mine who works with Sheriff's Dept and will give you a call back. Make sure you block your number. So I tell him, in my last call to him and that I checked with my friend at Sheriff's Dept and he says sarcastically, are you going to donate or what and I hung up.
I always ask for literature to back up what they are trying to sell or to whom the recipients are.
If you intend on donating funds to law enforcement send it directly to your local PD or SO, at least you know that the entire amount is going to that agency.
Caller ID said, V304200925001861, phone number 1-850-270-6587. Left blank message, just a bunch of noises.. Called back and got an answering machine that wants you to leave a detailed message of full name, complete address including city, state, zip code and the number you care calling from. This was to be put on their do not call list.
