I got one 30 mins ago. same story, luckily I work for a security company that deals with this type of fraud and other malicious social engineering tactics.
I hope someone comes to my door to try and deliver some papers I will have a surprise for them and I don't think they will actually hand me the "papers" after that.
They called my mother in law which I have no way in hell of an idea how they got her number it's listed. And called me my wife talked to the operator and said I was being sued I can't figure out if this is for real or a scam.
This is the same tactic reported in dozens of threads here. Total scam --- a restraining order has absolutely nothing to do with debt. Second, if you are being sued you would receive something via registered mail or court server. You would know it. You wouldn't find out by someone calling your in-laws. You can also check the local "clerk of courts" website, look under "civil" cases for your name. Third, they are probably using some half-a**ed skip tracer software packages. They call neighbors and relatives to try to "shame" you and get you to pay. Fourth, this phone number has no Internet references or hit until today.
I got this call 2 days ago. They have called my business partner at home, and my 88 year old mother.
This is pure harassment, and I blocked their number. I don't respond to robots and idiots. The first clue was that they used my first name, which is almost never put on any documents. It is somewhat a relief that the rest of you have had a similar experience, as I checked yesterday, and there was not any info available.
I just got off the phone with these [***] to there demise my father in law is a lawyer.. Ask them to send you or demand a INITIAL DEMAND LETTER they will most lkely hang up on you or [***] their pants. But yes all of you disregard these people i will be going to the district generals office in CA and suing these people..

I got an automated message from the company National Resource Bureau. they said there was a civil investigation involving a restraining order against my daughter. I called the number back, they asked if I was the person I said no I am her mother, the woman said "hold on one second" then hung up on me!
