Thanks for your input. I get several calls a week from different spoofed phone numbers and they are always about student loans or credit card interest rates.
This caller did not leave a message. I blocked the number but they will just call back from another spoofed one.

General Revenue Corporation. (Biggest Scam & Scumbag) Organized Crime family. What they do is lie and steal. They are a hack collections company that specializes in Sallie Mae student loans. You may and many times may not owe your Alma matter money from a student loan. They have at best a weak telemarketing team of high school drop outs and pot heads that will call you non stop to trick you in giving them information. Once they get your info they will harass everyone you have ever known or even slept with. (I can tell you that I finally got them to leave me alone as I found out where one of their employees lived and turns out they didn't like what happened when I contacted their neighbors, parents and police) Turns out they had the wrong information as I never attended the School they claimed I owed money to. They never apologize just never heard from them again. ***DO NOT VERIFY ANY INFO TO THEM AND JUST HANG UP AND BLOCK THE CALL**** Tell them to sue you!
They keep calling here but I never attended college or took out student loans, not too mention I am 76 yrs old living alone on retirement, so I certainly do not owe any student loans, nor does anyone at this number.
But they have my correct name and that of my brother and sister-in-law and their oldest son who all live nearby and whom they have harassed about my so-called student loans. Just trying to start family trouble but my family is too smart to fall for that bs.
If these scam artists had half a brain they'd at least limit their calls to people who do have outstanding loans as they would be easier to scam.
I'd suggest not answering the call, let it go to voice mail because they hang up before the message completes and don't leave a message anyway. Getting into a dialogue with them will work against you.
They're a bunch of low life troublemakers and criminal thieves with nothing else to do, trying to start family conflict. No shortage of those deranged people inciting trouble with family members and at the same time trying to get personal information that could lead to theft. Also, be aware they call from different numbers and the numbers on the ID caller are spoofed.
These numbers are generated from an autodialer. The people calling are telemarketers for loan companies trying to get you to "sell" you your student loans. They can't buy them directly from the lenders. There's also a bunch of stuff they're supposed to say that is scripted AND illegal !!! Unfortunately, you can't trace the number because the numbers are "dead" numbers and the autodialer selects them at random (so the company isn't liable for anything the telemarketer says).
