This number has been calling the business # for about two weeks now. They are asking for a person who I never have heard of. Caller ID- read- Pioneer Credit. I will not answer & I will not call them to tell them anything.
You are absolutely incorrect. Pioneer Credit Recovery is in fact contracted by the State of New Jersey Division of Taxation to resolve tax issues. You may receive calls for personal income tax debt & delinquency as well as business tax debt/delinquency. As for individuals claiming to have no knowledge of their tax liability with the State, the State has contacted or attempted to contact you through correspondence. The case is not turned over to PCR until after 60-90 days of no response from the taxpayer. A letter is then sent out during the contact cycle and the taxpayer will have 30 days from the date of the letter to resolve the issue. After that, the demand cycle begins with the sending of a certified letter. The taxpayer then has 90 days to resolve the issue before the case is sent to the Superior Court of New Jersey and a Certificate of Debt is issued. After 20 days from the date of the Certificate of Debt issuance, the case will be then sent to Levy and bank accounts can be frozen, assets seized, and your business padlocked.
This Certificate of Debt has the same force as a docketed judgement. So continue to not take it seriously and see what happens. What sort of scam is run that asks you to pay your TAXES?
If you receive a call from PCR and you are certain that you have no outstanding tax issue then cooperate. Send the necessary documentation. Most of the time, you're receiving calls because you've closed your business but failed to end your Tax Eligibilities (Sales & Use, GIT-ER, CBT, etc) and these open eligibilities generate delinquencies because the State has no tax return for what appears to be an operating company.
