Received a text from this number regarding an item I have for sale on craigslist. They asked me to send my full name and address and they would send a money order. Scam.
I posted an ad to sell a sofa and love seat. I received a text asking if they were still available. I replied yes. I then received a text stating I need to give my full name and address so a money order could be mailed, and then the items would be picked up. Red flags.Scam.I replied that they were scammers and rejected their offer. It's unfortunate that there are ruthless people in the world, who prey on others. If only they took the energy used to lie and deceive and became entrepreneurs...
Same as above...something didn't sit right with the text I received on some electronics...so I searched the phone number and here we are! We got the same "line" all of you got! Thank YOU for sharing so I had something to confirm my suspicions too.
Texted me from my Craigslist post. Wanted my full name and address to send money order, would pick up after I received payment. I replied: "No. I will meet you at the Albany Police Station. I'll bring the boots, you bring the cash. No mail and no money order."
Didn't hear back. :)
The same thing happened to me today .Unfortunately I responded. This person pretended that assistant sent me a bigger amount of money accidentally and asked me to send back the difference when I receive and cash money order. Some friend advised me that it is scam. Should have check up the number before I responded. Wondering what happen next if these scammers know a name and address.
