Called a relative telling her to get hold of me regarding a civil suit (and left a document "number" claiming it was the suit number. Called the 800 # back and got call from this woman, who refused to give any information regarding agency, address, supposed law firm involved, kept interrupting me and then hung up. It is a number out of New Jersey and the 800# affiliatied with it is 800-801-0065 for an SRS Associates, also no address available.
Recieved a phone call from this supposed "Law Firm". They were using supposed legal terms and threating with a civil lawsuit. The debt they are reffering to is a fraudulant debt. A person had open several different accounts in our name somewhere in NC, while we were stationed in Germany. This supposed "Lawyer" said we could send them a check, that they would not cash until the money was in our account. Or we could pay the debt in full within a week. We said we were going to contact the JAG office on base and get back with them. Since then we have done some research, only to find that they are a debt Collection Agency. Be cautious, they will try scare tatics and make you to feel as though you are in serious trouble with the law.
