Collecting for homeless veterans

This call came from American Veterans and the caller stated it was for homeless veterans.  He also stated suicide statistics of these veterans.  I asked if it was a government program and he said yes.  I hung up.

called my cellphone which had at one time been a landline.  My number is on the Do Not Call list.  they did not leave a message.

why are those calls coming into people if we are on a do not call list

Because this outfit probably claims to be a charity, which is exempt from DNC list restrictions.  Also, because they are possibly crooks who don't care about the DNC list.
