Caller ID says: "POLITICAL CALL". You betcha! Repeat offender. Left a VM this time, on behalf of Leland Cheung for Lt. Governor. Sorry... no vote for you, sweetie!
After three blessed days with NONE of these calls (was there a monsoon in India or something???) got a call from this ***253-245-4798***. Since I recognized the pattern of a strange UNKNOWN NUMBER with NO NAME, i picked up/hung up without answering to break the call and then came here to look it up.
Within ONE MINUTE, while i was just finding these comments, i got ANOTHER CALL, this one said "POLITICAL CALL" and the number 857-444-5592 on Caller ID. I did the same thing: picked up/hung up to stop it.
This has happened before: 2-3 calls within a minute of each other - sometimes the SAME number; other times two or three 'different' numbers (but since they are probably ALL SPOOFED that makes little difference.)
My POINT being the NEW TACTIC seems to be to call, and if they can't get through, such as with being BLOCKED or otherwise thwarted with ONE number - to IMMEDIATELY TRY AGAIN with another SPOOFED/FALSE number in order to, hopefully, break through our 'defenses' and perpetrate their SCAM on us, anyway.
At least in THIS case, it didn't work.
Caller: SAME OLD EVIL SCAMMERS
I am tied of these calls I reported some of these call numbers to the FCC which gets back to the poster stating number gets a fine! I am on do not call list.
TODAY, at 8:37AM got a call from "857-776-3089". Caller ID said "CHIDRENS CANCE" (no 'R').
So much for the DNC List RULE about calling between NINE (9) AM and EIGHT (8) PM - ONLY.
I suspect these two calls are CONNECTED, as in the same ILLEGAL SCAMMING CALL CENTER, possibly located overseas but likely OWNED BY A FILTHY RICH WHITE SCUMBAG AMERICAN CEO B*STARD who could care less about our privacy or comfort.
MO is the same: use a LOOPHOLE in the DNC List LAW ("political' and 'charity' calls are exempt from the rules) to possibly FOOL or confuse people into giving out their PRIVATE FINANCIAL or PERSONL IDENTIFYING information so that these THIEVES can DRAIN your bank accounts and STEAL your identity.
Two calls from this number: Friday about 6PM and Sunday about noon. No voicemail was left either time, so it's hard to tell whether it's a scam, or whether it's really a "political call", as the caller ID suggests. There *is* a special primary next week for the Massachusetts 5th district House of Representatives seat, and the phone has been ringing off the hook with political calls from everybody and her sister, so it *could* be that. But I'll be dinged if I'm going to answer (or call 'em back) just to satify my curiosity. ;)
