Calls from invalid or impossible numbers (eg 888-000-0000) are from hack/pranksters (usually). My brother is a BIG TIME computer geek and showed me how to download free internet software that allows anyone, using a computer with modem, iPhone or Android phone to anonymously make calls and change the caller id number that displays. Sometimes these are used to scam, mostly to annoy. And, blocking the numbers usually doesn't work because they're not valid numbers and your cell phone company can't block invalid numbers. Also, calls from invalid numbers DO NOT show up on cell phone calling/billing records so at least you're not charged for airtime. There is no way to block them so either ignore them or go through the BIG hassle of changing your phone number, which is ALWAYS free.
Is this a valid phone number? Can't be! How can you have a number with seven zeros? It rang through to my personal cell phone twice in close succession. I did not answer -- if it's important they'll leave a message. They didn't -- must not be important.
