Just as the above caller, I have a common Indian name, but have no need to call India! I came here to investigate a series of dead-air calls, which take a good minute to hang up after I do. On the upside, these South-Asian long distance providers who grab Indian names out of the directories are the only telemarketers who call anymore, since I signed onto the DNC list.

I got the call also, I think it is some kind of major scam. My husband heard about companies that try to keep you on the phone to add up minutes and somehow can charge you for it. I am not sure how it works, however I am confident the scam is legit because he was warned about it by his military chain of command. They usually do not tell people about false scams. Anyway, I hung up with them within 33 seconds and they will not stop calling now. I would say if you see this number, which they say they are from florida but caller ID says San Diego, do not answer.
