What to know if I was satisfied with timeshare rate increases and possible fraudulent selling practices

When I called back got the message that the number cannot be connected as dialed how else do you dial a long distance number without the 1

For the past two or three years I have been bugged with calls from people wanting to buy my timeshare.  Whenever I bother to answer, I tell them I never had a timeshare.  My father had one, but the contract on it expired in 1999.  Why won't they ever get the message and leave me alone?
