Caller claimed to be a realtor (he gave a company name but I didn't catch it) "calling people in the neighborhood" to "find out when we might be planning on moving".
1. We're not planning on moving.
2. If we were, we'd use one of our several friends who is a realtor (is there anyone over the age of, say, 30 in the country who doesn't already know at least one realtor?) rather than somebody we don't know.
3. If we did for some asinine reason decide to use somebody we don't know, it certainly would not be a realtor who cold calls people on the federal Do Not Call list.
I don't know for a fact that it was an actual scam (rather than just a desperate realtor trying to drum up business in a slow market), but he's definitely not getting mine.
Got a call from the number and unfortunately answered. Exchanged hellos and hung up. Immediately called again and did not answer. He then immediately sent me a text saying he is John from Keller Williams Realty and that he would like be involved in the sale of some mystery property that I have. Call was completely unsolicitied, unwanted and frankly cost me minutes and a text. Sucks.
