He said he is from a Window Technology Support Company and was getting error messages; would like to help fix the problem. However, my computer is still under warranty and informed him that I will call him if needed. Is this a scam or not?
Scam - see http://www.microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx. Microsoft and it's partners will never call you unless you already called them about a problem.
Yes, it's a scam. A well known one. Ignore him.
They are aiming to get remote access to your computer. From there they will defraud you in more ways than you can imagine.
I could explain more. It's not necessary. Be assured, they're frauds. Windows will NEVER cold-call you. Unless you've requested assistance, they'll NEVER call you at all. It's just that simple.
Live Well.

is not a scame they realy save my pc and remove all the viruses and all the popup.they realy work hard and its customers support is great. They work personally to support PC problems. They never say they call from any other company like HP, DELL ....
Got a call from these criminals. They called me out of the blue wanting to connect to my computer to diagnose some error messages they had been receiving. They claimed to work for Microsoft but had horrible phone etiquette, a terrible connection and sounded to be working in a mine shaft somewhere in the middle of India. I screwed with them for a half hour. I asked for a number to call them back for a better connection then had them hold while I Google it and proved to them they have nothing to do with Microsoft. Once they were busted they got really pissed.
