I just got off the phone with them. They called a few weeks ago saying they were receiving a message that my computer was hacked and I said [***], cursed a bit more at them and hung up. So, this time I decided to have a bit of fun with them and went along with their instructions (I didn't do what "miss Johnson" (never heard a Johnson with a thick Indian (dot, not feathers)) accent said, I just told her that I was and after she told me to put in the second code, I said "oh my god! What did you do? My computer just crashed!" She got so scared and said that wasn't supposed to happen and to hold on and talk to her supervisor. This clown was rather indignant with me. He told me to to start the process all over again and I said that how can I when you just crashed my computer. He said that was impossible and said to turn it off and on. When told him that I can't because it won't go on at all now and that he broke my computer, he had the balls to tell me that there was something wrong with my computer before this happened and was arguing with me. When I asked if he was going to pay to repair my computer, he said have a nice day and hung up.
He can't fix anything. He can, if you let him, make your computer essentially worthless, as well as take all your personal and financial information. Never allow anyone you do not personally know, to have access to your computer. This is an on-going tech scam originating in India and Pakistan.
At 9:15 p.m. PST "Lisa" called me, from "Windows Computer". Very difficult to understand her. Wanted to talk with the person who owns my "Windows Computer." I told her to take my name off her call is, that this is an illegal call, and hung up.
Just called my cell @ 11:00pm. Robotic woman's voice said "Goodbye" and disconnected the call. I see this number is associated with a business in Kentucky. Wonder if they are aware they called the west coast...
