I answered and noone spoke eventually they hung up. When I called back a voice message said it was Elaine from the verifcation center? i HAVE NO IDEA WHO THAT IS!!
Just got the call today and Googled it. I knew it was a scam as soon as they said I had registered online. I didn't of course. This site confirmed my suspisions. Same message to call back Lane or Elaine. I couldn't quite tell. I'm glad to see a site like this!
Just got a call from a guy left a message telling me to call back regarding a contest I entered for an SUV and flat screen, and to ask for Elaine. I called the number which went to a woman's voicemail about verification for the prize. I stupidly left a message before I thought to look it up! Obviously a scam.....
Yes, it is about winning a flat-screen tv and it is legit. I had to visit a local resort for a couple of hours, but got the claim ticket afterwards for BestBuy and picked up a 32" Vizio LCD TV. Just had a form to fill out with them and off I went. I too thought it was some big hoax. Not this time. The caller is actually an independent call center contractor and makes the call on behalf of the timeshare resort.
