The Do Not Call list has nothing to do with unwanted callers. It was created solely for the purpose of limiting telephone marketing calls to those on the DNC list, by Legitimate American Based businesses who are registered with the FTC. The DNC is self funded by the approx $3500.00 per year that these businesses pay to be Registered and the List they are required to purchase. Violators are easily found, warned, then fined 10 - 16k, by simply pulling them up in the FTC data base. The DNC is maintained within the FTC as simply a running updated list. It is not a law enforcement agency nor does it chase after any unwanted callers UNLESS they are in the FTC database. That others who robot call get your phone number is strictly because they use sequential Predictive dialers....sooner or later everyone's phone rings. Go to DNC site and read.
Googled the number its out of kentucky. Called the number back, the message stated that I visited an affiliated website and they wanted to give me a reward card worth whatever. It gave me the option to press 1 to collect the reward card or 2 to be removed from the call list. Being on the national and Florida do not call list I don't see how they get away with calling to begin with.
