Doug Hodnett supposedly from IRS call my home. My wife answered but he refused to tell her anything although we file jointly. I then called it back from my cell (I was out of town). He indicated I had not put the box number in form 2553. I asked what form and he indicated it was for small business. He indicated he must have wrong person of my name.
Why would the IRS not have the right phone number for me if this was legit? Just seemed very bizarre and wrong.
This is rather odd. I have dealt with the IRS and a have never received a telephone call.
They send correspondence referencing a specific situation regarding your taxes etc. with contact numbers for you to call and the IRS person you speak with is required to
give you their badge number . Form 2553 is related to an S Corp.
Doug Hudnet Called asking for form 2553 to be faxed by my CPA for my business. Not sure if this is real or not, gave it to my CPA to deal with, strange.
I received a call in Jan for the same person. Asking about my late husbands estate. He said he was trying to mail something, but it got returned. He was looking for a forwarding address. I did give the address, but now I'm worried. I never received any correspondence.
Has anyone contacted the IRS with this information ?
