I am sick to death with these unidentified calls. I heard a man speak on credit card companies just closing out so called dead beat people who cannot seem to handle credit cards. They become a write off and the credit card companies do not set up collection.  They bundle up past due accounts and what the collection company can collect they keep.  This speaker said do not ever pay through a collection company. He said to contact the credit card company directly to work out a payment schedule.  The collection companies are not honest and walk a thin line of being illegal in their calls and will not send any documentation to support their claims.  I have one collection that supposedly goes back to 2004. I do not have a clue what it is.  I have been accused by the collector of fraud and theft.  The amount is under 500.00.  I told them not to call to just run a scam and play games. He said they would sue me.  I said have at it.  I have no assets, no car, no job ... On disability and that money cannot be touched.
