Finally got to talk to somebody when they called. It was from our local newspaper; we had recently renewed our subscription. They were calling to verify that we were receiving the paper as requested. They asked some more questions about whether I was a new customer / old customer, and asked if I wanted to take care of payment (which was odd, considering I had already paid at the time that I renewed).
I guess this is a "clearning house" for various publications.
Caller said it was Sharon calling to check on issues regarding the delivery of the Washington Times. "Please call 202-636-3333 or 800-277-8500. Thank. Click."
This is after I called them and asked to be removed from their calling list.
