Received a call on my cell phone. Same stuff, said they were from Windows and my computer was sending error information. All I needed to do was log onto my computer and they would fix the problem for me. When I asked him the IP address of the computer he said the one I was on he said the one I was on now. Freaking Moron...... I'm on my cell phone and at WALMART!!!!!!!!!! SCAM, BIG TIME. Dont give any information to these people.
My husband said someone called (we looked up the number on Bright House Caller ID on our TV) -. Husband could hardly understand - English very poor - heavy accent - insisted that my husband go to the computer and turn it on ... "it will only take a minute" ... he kept insisting that he had to "do something" to protect the computer - hubby had no idea who this person was or what company he was calling from. We had had tech work done by OMG the day before (if you don't have OMG - get it - worth every penny and more - total complete unlimited support for an annual fee). Anyway, I was wondering if this is how computers get hacked, hijacked or have viruses embedded. I am going to report this and hope that they catch the scumbags - too much identity theft going on.
