Got the same message as the rest.  5 new users on my computer.  He was supposed to be a microsoft/turbo tax support.
I'm using XP and he couldn't tell me what system I was using.  Wanted to instruct me on how to tell how many users are on my computer.  I told him I don't trust you - I'm hanging up.  That was that.

Same thing happened, didn't answer the first time, tried returning the call, number not in service. Answered the next time, he tried telling me there were more than 5 computers logged onto my computer the night b4, and that if i wasnt even using my computer that i had been hacked, not my network, but  my computer itself. Said he was from Turbo Techs, a contractor or division of Microsoft.  He said they received an error report or something to that effect. He verified my email, or at least that he had it, tried asking me if I knew how to check how many computers are logged onto mine. When I told I dont, but don't have my laptop on or even near me, he ceased to"want to" help. Not sure, but sounds like a scam.

Same here: a woman with foreign accent called me by my name and said there were 18 foreigners, including Nigerian, hacking into my local network. I happened to have an internet security expert using my ethernet, and he said that that's a scam and there was nothing wrong with my network or computer.

Same here, a man called yesterday,  said that 5 devices were attached to my system the night before - some were from Nigeria. He identified himself as calling from Turbo Tech (sounded like TurboTax ). The caller said their company had been contracted by Windows to monitor systems with unusual activity. I asked the caller where he was located,  he said Connecticut. The caller was persistent,  and I hung up on him. The caller had my nickname and my cell phone number, so I know where he got my information - not from anything that will establish credit in my name. This was a scam.

Yes the FBI and the FTC take these 'SPOOFED' calls coming from scammers in another country. I've been getting another 'SPOOFED' calls from 718-658-7748. I've reported this to the Metropolitan Police Department Financial and Cyber Crimes Unit. Today I contacted the Federal Trade Commission here in Washington, D.C. to file a complaint. They took the complaint providing me with a reference number. I also contact my representative in Congress by letting her by aware of this because residents are receiving fraudulent calls all around the United States. Hopefully the House Subcommittee on NSA and Cyber security will hold future hearings regarding scammers calling from foreign countries using 'SPOOFED' telephone numbers.
