Maybe it's not a scam but the calls that are made to job seekers are misleading. Calling someone who has been out of work for over a year or more and is desperately looking for gainful employment has every right to be upset. Mr. Callahan's messages are misleading. But as people become more savvy they will realize that if a recruiter is calling out of the blue and not leaving real details as to how they came across your resume and exactly what the opportunity actually is, then that is a sure sign that the job is not a salaried job and is mostly likely a sales/commission only opportunity of which I am sure most of us are NOT looking for. So demanding an apology on behalf of someone you don't know is a bit silly and out of line. In these hard economic times Gene Callahan is wasting time that could be spent looking for real jobs. An organization like Primerica that has to use the kind of tactics he does is ridiculous.
Soemone by the name of Gene Callahan called me saying his comapany is expanding and he got my resume from Careerbuilder. My resume has not been on that site for over 8 months.
Did you get in touch with him? I received a voice mail today from a Gene Callahan who said the same thing about his company expanding, but he said he was referred to me by someone, but did not say who. THe message also did not reference what the job was for.
