Figured they were after money...so I picked up the receiver and hung it up. I'll donate on my own...I'm not giving most of a donation to the telemarketers.
Wanted breast cancer donation - 10AM in morning call. Say they are non profit - tax deductable. Repeated attempts to be exclude from their call have been fruitless, just hung up on. They use different phone numbers from this 860-531-3080 ext. and just won't stop. IMO scam to keep this up - asked for written info and they say they don't do anything in mail just phone calls... so funny. Turned them in to FCC and DNC for what good it does
I am very active in the BC community and orgs. I intentionally engaged the woman in conversation including queries about her assertation that the org donated to BC patients who needed financial assistance. I then proceeded to tell her I could barely afford my own BC TX (true) , and wanted to know how women who need financial assistance would be able to obtain It. She avoided the question.From the very beginning I knew she was a telemarketer and suspected she was representing a fraudulent financial campaign under the auspices of breast cancer, soliciting the money from unwary "victims". I called her bluff and wished her efforts to help successful . I doubt she will be calling my number again.
First time I received call from this number (Caller ID reads Breast Cancer S), I did not answer it, and no message was left on machine. I called back and automated service answered listing name as Breast Cancer Society.
Received another call tonight. This time I answered. The woman on the phone asked for "Jane". I told her she had the wrong number. She replies, "I think I do have the right number"...how rude. I told her again she had the wrong number and not to call back.
Next time someone from this charity calls, they will hear a recording...my phone company telling them their number has been blocked.
