They are a business magazine looking to renew subscription. They start out by saying asking for Mr. X or his assistant, sounding very official. Then the phishing for scam info starts. SCAM!!! Yesterday, our office received a dozen or so calls from a hang-up caller. I'm assuming there were confirming that they had "a live one", so we knew to expect a scam call today. SCAM!
I have been receiving calls from them daily, but don't normally pick up numbers that I'm unfamiliar with. Thankfully, they're calling my SkypeIn account, so their number was easily blocked.
I have been receiving harrasing (repetative and overbearing) calls from any number of free magazines that derive their income through the number of subscribers that the hav.
Each time I tell them to take me off their phone list -- and each time they fail.
The advertizers should know that this is a scam that is costing them money and bothering the peace of thousands of Americans.
860-589-0220 / 0221 / etc seem to be some of the worst perpetrators
I have been getting the same types of calls. I have never answered them, but they keep coming. I have blocked 0220 / 0221 on Skype. We'll see what happens next.
