The message said they were going to be installing alarm systems in my area. I tried to follow the phone prompts to get to a real person (so I could find out the company's name and ask them to stop), but never got a real person before being disconnected.
same here. I believe it is a crime ring looking for homes to burglarize. This has happened before and 3 homes were burglarized. Police discovered the homes had been identified through the use of a phone scam just like this. The police say there is nothing they can do, but basically the phone companies do not care if customers have stuff stolen - they won't be affected. They are truly negligent and the police are basically complacent. Then the homes are robbed and the police say there is nothing they can do. Of course there is nothing they can do after the home is burglarized!! They should realize that these calls are the burglar alarm and should find out who is making the calls. They will find the criminals before the crime that way. But police are not known for having a lot of foresight. They prove this by ignoring issues like this.
