I have received at least 7 phone calls from this number in one week. I called the number after a call yesterday morning, asked that they not call me again and to take my number off of their call list after they wouldn't tell me who they are, or what they wanted. Later that evening, I received ANOTHER call. Today, I called and went off on them, said that I was going to report them, and they still tried to get information from me! I thought that I'd registered my name under the Do Not Call list, but I went online and signed up again. I swear, if they call me again I'm going to set off an air horn into the receiver. GRRRRRR...
I received a call asking to speak to a distant relative. I told her I didn't recall the phone #. She then asked me to relay a message (garbled) to that relative with this number 1800 551-0646. However, the number the inquirer was calling from was 862 015-2095. I dialed that number later and I got the third degree: "What's your name, phone number and 4 last digits of your social security". Since I felt that limited info was safe to give out in order to avoid future calls, I gave him the info. I then asked who are you, a collection agency? "Sir, we are not allowed to give out any information." I exploded." You ask me all kinds of personal information, but yours is private? I can report you for harassment!" He stammered, "All I can tell you is we are a financial institution." In other words, it's probably a collection agency.
