He said he was some kind of police officer raising money for a campaign against texting and driving. He asked me to donate to get a kit or something to show my support for the cause. I said no thanks. He gave two donation options, either $25 or $50. I said I wasn't in a position to donate anything right now. He said that he didn't call to get into an argument and asked which donation amount I wanted to give. I told him that I was going to hang up, and I did. He was very rude. I was polite. There was no reason for him to talk that way to me. It's probably a scam. I've worked as a pollster and quality control person who needed to call people, so I'm polite to everyone, even telemarketers. He had terrible phone manner that would get him fired. So I assume this is a scam. He pretends to be from a worthy cause to get your credit card information so he can rob you blind. It's not a legitimate organization.
Caller ID is V82712214900068.. so it indicates VOIP / some fake identity, since I was waiting for an important phone I picked it up, a guy said he is with NJ police officer raising money. Really? A VOIP fake number for a NPO? Great idea!
This phone # has called at least 12 times in one week , some times theirs some one their and some times not. Even after repeated times of telling them to remove me from the call list I am still receiveing calls !!!
