I had the exact same scenario happen to me as that of Rob from Texas. Deborah Emmy spent two days texting us about a flatbed trailer we had listed on Craigs List. She texted us from 702 536-1172.
I checked with Paypal and they confirmed my suspicions that this was a SCAM!
I was contacted via text message 702-536-1172 originally from a lady named Deborah Emmy interested in buying a vehicle I posted in Craiglist. She offered to pay for my car via PayPal and that she will send someone to pick the vehicle after payment cleared. Then she sent me the following message:
"My Apologies: I had this Problem with the Shipper Agent, the pick up
agent said they won't come for the pick up of the (Honda Odysseus
2004) that i will need to pay for the pick up before they can arrange
a pick up time, ! i wish to inform you that i would be adding an extra
-$1,300 to the money am transferring into your PayPal account, which
is for the charged pick up fee for the pick up company to register the
(Honda Odysseus 2004) for pick up... So now i will be sending the
total amount of -$6,700 into your account now and you will help me
send the -$1,200 to the agent via Western union the remaining -$100 is
to cover W-U charges.. Okay ?"
Be aware of this SCAM!! They could steel your money!!!!!
This happens today, July 15, 2014 in Texas!!
