Yep, these lovely people at West Asset Management are busy in collecting debts, and couldn't care less if they reach the WRONG person time after time after time. The called me for someone with my wife's name.... I advised them that we have no outstanding debts that are in any way delinquent...... called back, got a "manager" and he gave me a full social security number. Of course, the calls continue anyway, another one today from another one of their collectors. Typical fraudulent collection practices. I can't say that I wish these folks very well....
West Asset Management of Caldwell New Jersey called about a student loan. I explained that the debtor has had a major stroke & has NO MONEY at all & so is living with me . . . & I only have $637/mo SSI coming in that I am TRYING to support both of us with. This first idiot asked me if I could make his payments for him!!! Then she put me on hold; eventually some other idiot came on the line and wanted me to call them back ON MY PHONE BILL.
I told idiot #2 that if they wanted to talk with me they could make the call - and idiot #2 turned into a B*T*H. She told me in a very rude tone of voice that "We don't want to talk with you; tell him to call." I hung up the phone.
He is virtually dependant on me for nearly everything - he is totally non-sensorary with serious lack of mobility and extremely limited range of motion on one side, weak as a kitten, and suffers from aphasia.
The next time they call I may get the emergency whistle and blast their eardrums. Then they can try to pay their bills without any income due to a disability!
This collection agency in New Jersey is cold calling all persons with my last name, which is common, and initials looking for a Laurie Taylor. Despite my telling them not to call since I am not she, they continue to call. They will not tell you why they are calling either. The parent company, West Corporation in Omaha NE, is run by Tom Barker and is also the company that operated the Miss Cleo psychic call in fraud. Now Barker is a director of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce! Had enough? Call the home office.
