ID said Newark, NJ -- could have easily been someone I know or do business with, but I let it go to VM and of course, nothing. Every time I get a call from a business or professional I work with and the caller ID says the name of a town or a state or something else, I make a very big point of telling them to change it, because of these calls, and they're starting to pay attention. If you have a similar experience, please tell folks the same thing. It may be one way to make our lives easier in the face of all this.
Actually, about a month ago, I heard a tease on WCBS radio in NY saying that attorneys-general from several states were doing something to deal with these scam/robocalls, and I waited for the story, and the story was the same as the tease. Why bother? Media corporations rarely let their news outlets report anything that will harm anyone's bottom line, but I suggest that instead of Congress, which is useless, or State reps and senators, ditto, we each write very strong letters to the attorney general of our state, maybe this is our way in to get some action.
