They just called for a coworker. Didn't say why only that it was of a personal matter. Further questioning and more vagueness finally she revealed finding my coworkers name and her work number on a webpage. Put her on hold again and reversed look up to see them identified here as Pioneer Credit Reporting. When asked if that was who she was she corrected by saying it’s Recovery . Seems they’re hired to locate people down who have outstanding debt using the internet. Actually surprised they haven’t been doing it more with the way things are these days.
Thanks everyone for info! I've had the same phone number for almost 10 yrs so when I get a call I dont know I just google and find out who they are. I would hate to have their job!! Must suck harassing people for a paycheck!!
to all those complaining about collections agency calling them multiple times, there is nothing you can legally do about it no matter how many times they call you and even if you are the wrong party or even if you are on the DNC list. . Courts have ruled that collections agencies have the legal right to pursue collections.
The simplest thing to do is not answer the phone, answer and tell them the person they are looking for does not live there and they have a wrong number or immediately hang up on them.
