Just to let everyone know what kind of scam these people are running:
I called them back, told them I had reported them to the attorney general's office, and then asked how I can get the calls stopped. The reply was, "You said you reported us to the attorney general, so you can let THEM tell you." At which point, the rep abruptly hung up on me.
I immediately called back a second time asking for the company's name and address. I was told the second rep that she can't give me that information. I replied saying if she couldn't share that sort of information, why should I believe they're running anything other than a scam operation. Then SHE hung up on me.
Thinking the third time would be the charm, I called right back. This time I had someone on the line pretending to be helpful. She agreed to remove my number from their calling list, saying it would take up to 48 hours for it to clear the system. I then stated that if I receive any calls after that 48-hour window, I would be having my attorney contact them. This was the rep's reply: "I've been real nice to you and tried to help you, and now you're just being an a**hole." Then she hung up, too.
Yep, sounds legit to me. <insert eye roll here>
Disregard these calls people. These folks are garden-variety scumsucking bottom feeder scam artists trolling for vulnerable targets. There's no way anyone running a legitimate business would treat callers that way.
Unknown phone number on caller ID but stated that there is a civil matter with my name on it and they were going to serve me papers at my home or place of employment. Left number 863-342-4848 to call back to plead my case. Been getting various calls from these same people threatening me leaving different numbers every day. Unbelievable the harassment these companies can get away with!
I had the exact same experience. They never say who they are, but to contact the "plaintiff" at another number and reference docket #... They use the most threatening voice possible too.

Yes Carol I've had same exact experience. I've never called back but I just can't believe how dumb they think people are. They call you trying to use threatening scare tactics then when you ask questions they get nasty. #1 clue right there that they aren't legit.
I just got a call on my cell phone from from an 'unidentified Verizon caller'...answered it and it's a recording of a gruff sounding gentleman threatening to have vague civil papers served on me at work, unless I call 863-342-4848 and reference docket L15651. Who do I need to call to report this scam?
Oddly enough I received a call a couple of days ago with pretty much the same message, but it was intended for my ex wife...in this case it was a woman's recorded voice, but with the same message. I don't know if it was the same number.
