Scam. See my post. Ignore and block the calls. Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you can not be arrested for it. Total scam. Someone is trying to scare money out of you. Don't fall for it.
Left a voicemail message stating I would be arrested in 30 minutes if I didn't return their call. I have no clue as to who this person in or why they are calling me.
This is (one of many) criminal extortion scams that have been going on for years. Many are operating overseas and out of the reach of US law enforcement, while others are operating within the confines of prison cells here in the US, using contraband cell phones. Others are using computers. Either way, they are able to disguise their identities and locations, making them next to impossible to prosecute. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting victims' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
Complete Indian or Pakistani, law or debt scam. Pretends to be local AG. Says you'll be arrested if you don't pay down a certain debt. They want the money the some untraceable form. Ignore and block the calls. Indian accent a dead giveaway. For some reason they love to spoof Florida locations.
