The short list - How to tell if you're being scammed;
- The caller is abnormally harassing and abusive.
- blatant threats.
- tell you that you are being served with a lawsuit immediately
- they may say that they have contacted the police, or that you may be arrested.
- The caller demands payment “today.”
- The caller doesn’t accept various forms of payment
- only allowing you to pay by credit card over the phone and refusing payment by any other method
- The caller refuses to give a physical address or name.
- The caller refers you back to the original creditor for information.
- Someone answers the phone immediately when you call.
- You keep dealing with the same person.
- if you keep talking to "Frank Jones" every time you call
Also, Process Servers never warn you in advance that they're coming
And every debt collector MUST mail you (in the mail, with a stamp...e-mail, texts, and faxes DO NOT COUNT) a DEBT VALIDATION within 5 days of their initial contact. This tells you who the original creditor is, how much you owe, when you incurred the debt, and what to do if you don't recognize or disagree with the amount of the debt.
REAL collectors are happy to supply you with this. SCAMMERS and extortionists are not.

The number in question is as I now know to be s scam as the have called me as well a man on the phone sounds African American and is demanding a large sum of money in only one or two forms of payment which are either net send or rush card he calls himself Mr. Brown.
