I got a call from a very rude person who insisted that a person with my last name was listed as having my phone number. This is completely untrue, as the phone has been in the name of my husband and myself for 20 years now.

I previously received calls from debt collectors looking for this unknown person. Obviously these bill collectors saw the listing when I had the number under my first initial which is the same initial as the person they are looking for. Then they are rude and insist you are lying to them when you tell them you never heard of the person. If anyone finds out what company this is (because they won't tell me) please let me know. I would be willing to spend money to stop them from harrassing innocent people.
I got a call from this number and they made it sound like an emergency that I call them back. I have relatives in SC and it freaked me out. It was just a debt collector with new tactics.
One of our clients came in today with a letter from Advanced Business Claims LLC. This number was listed on the letter.
The company is trying to collect an alleged debt dating back to 2011, even though the client didn't have any services performed on the date in question. The company also called the client numerous times yesterday demanding payment (by credit card only) by 5 PM. The client's letter from them did not include any proof of the debt and instead had a form demanding various personal identifying information (account numbers, last four digits of the SSN, etc.)
I told the client that should they call back, to demand proof of the debt by mail, and not e-mail, and not to pay anything without proof. And I also told the client to ask the company to stop calling, though I doubt that will work as the company has been calling with a different number each time it calls.
